About Light Odyssey

Light Odyssey Hungary Film Tecnology Ltd. was founded by George Posztós & Mihály Hudák in March 2002 as a partner of Light Odyssey Inc.

One of the owners of our company is Lajos Koltai HSC, ASC (director of Evening, Fatelessness, DOP of Being Julia, Malena, Sunshine, La leggenda del pianista sull’oceano, etc.) and Gyula Pados HSC (DOP of Fateless, Controll, Evening, Basic Instinct 2, Duchess etc.)

The main business of our firm is the production, distribution of technical equipment for the film industry.

Our base and warehouse in Budapest are at Soroksari ut 122. Our partner company is based in San Francisco and from there it supplies lighting equipment for the U.S. film industry. In case of larger Hungarian productions all our partner’s resources are available for us. We have at our disposal state-of-the-art European and overseas equipment that is continously being developed and expanded up to the highest standards in film and video production.

Our services include sophisticated solutions for special filming situations (underwater lighting, life protection equipment, rain and lightning machines, dollies, cranes, trusses, intelligent lights, etc.). Our lighting equipment is based on ARRI and Mole Richardson lights, and our grip equipment is made of Fisher dolly, SuperTechno 30 and Filmair crane camera moving material. We have the most modern 35-mm cameras (ARRICAM, ARRI 535, ARRI 435) and Sony HD videocameras as well, together with all the necessary accessories. We have basically all that is needed to service large feature film productions.

We have close business relations with big European rental houses such as Cinegate, Procon, with whom we are able to supply equipment for big budget international productions.

In the past three years we have been developing our company and expanding our technical equipment and human resource base (gaffers, best boys, key grips, electricians, grips). Our two gaffers, Attila Bilik and Zsolt Büti have been involved in all the big international movies that were shot in Hungary in the last few years.
Attila Bilik: Rigging gaffer: The Company, Eragon, Munich; Gaffer: Einstein and Eddindton, Children of glory, Ragazzi della via Pal
Zsolt Büti: Gaffer: The Secret of Moonacre, Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Treasures Island, Rigging Gaffer: Amusement, Key-rigging gaffer: Eragon.

We also deal with equipment distribution (Reel EFX, T-light, SetWear), and we have our own development and service and repair shop. Dimmers, underwater lights and camera cases are among the equipment developed by us.
